ERDAS IMAGINE® is
the world’s foremost remote sensing solution, providing tools to create, manage
and analyze imagery to increase the value of geospatial information. I am proud
to be an active contributor as a member IMAGINE core development team.
ERDAS IMAGINE Viewer - faster raster/vector
Viewer is the core application for displaying and editing multilayers of raster,
vector and annotation data.
I participated in all aspects of viewer with a focus on enhancing the core visualization
technologies which results in dramatic performance boost and user productivity increase.
ERDAS IMAGINE VirtualGIS
IMAGINE VirtualGIS is a 3D visualization tool. It allows roaming of large database
with real time performance. Multiple layers of raster, annotation, and vector imagery
can be viewed and queried within a virtual environment. I made contribution in code
maintenance and enhancements.
ERDAS IMAGINE AutoSync - geometric model integration
IMAGINE AutoSync automatically aligns two or more images of potentially dissimilar
types, such as data from different sensors or with different resolutions. I integrated
an array of geometric models to broaden the transforms supported.
ERDAS IMAGINE Radar Mapping Suite - InSAR
Radar mapping is known for its precision, providing day-and-night and all-weather
information that cannot be extracted using traditional photogrammetric methods.
I participated in the InSAR project which is about generating digital elevation
models (DEMs) from a pair of interferometric images.
Ehlers fusion - algorithm integration
Since higher resolution imagery is generally single band, while multispectral imagery
generally has the lower resolutions, resolution merge techniques are often used
to produce high resolution, multispectral imagery. Ehlers Fusion is an image fusion
algorithm invented by Prof. Manfred Ehlers, University of Osnabrück. I helped
integrate it into IMAGINE.
ALOS sensor formats
ALOS (Advanced Land Observation Satellite) is a satellite lauched in 2006. It has
three remote sensing instruments PRISM for digital elevation mapping, AVNIR-2 for
land coverage observation, and a radar sensor PALSAR.
I added the support of reading levels of product of all three sensors in all formats
from all data distributors.
