Projects::Illumination Subspaces of Images

With a set of training images, using SVD (singular value decomposition), it is possible to get the normal for each pixel on the scene and thus, one can simulate the lightened results of light source from any direction.

Input

10 training images

Output

One can generate images of simulating the same scene with light shooting from any direction.

Ouput images (left->front->right)

Ouput images (left->top->right)

Movie composed of the frames that has light moving from right to front to left to top to right.

Intermediate results

Axis images

(note, the strength of light is intentionally set to be same, ie proportional to 1/(eigen value) along each axis,
which are: (1/5.2727), (1/0.2988), (1/0.2682) for Z, X, Y respectively.)
